As many as 20 day camps and three full-program camps intended for over 15,500 students from the municipality will be available this summer. In a response to IPN, the municipal Division of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport says a ticket to a full-program camp costs 1,950 lei for ten days. Of this sum, the parents pay 20%, which is 390 lei. For a ticket to a day camp, the parents pay 310 lei, which is 20% of its price. Also, 3,534 students will rest at camps free of charge.

The heavy rain with hail that fell during the last few days affected 60-70% of the apple, plum and cherry orchards in Lencăuți village of Ocnița district. In Chiștelnița village of Telenești district, a local road became impassable on a distance of almost 2 km. In the villages Giurgiuleşti, Slobozia Mare, Cucoara and Văleni of Cahul district, rescuers pumped water out of cellars, basements and houses. Damage was also caused in Strășeni, Cantemir, Ialoveni, Hâncești, Grăiești, Tohatin, Cruzești and Cheltuitorul.

After the second round of discussions with the Bloc ACUM, the leader of the Party of Socialists Zinaida Grecheanyi said those from the Bloc ACUM insist on voting their candidates as Prime Minister and on adopting the package of laws they suggested. The PSRM, as the political force for which most of the citizens voted, cannot accept this. As to the invitation to discussions issued by the Democratic Party, Zinaida Grecheanyi said the internal statutes of the PSRM provide that this issue should be discussed by the party’s National Council. This will be convened later this week. “We didn’t have a mandate and didn’t discuss with anyone except for the Bloc ACUM,” she concluded.

The Democratic Party took cognizance of the negotiations held by the Bloc ACUM and the Party of Socialists on June 4. The party’s spokesman said the invitation addressed to the PSRM last weekend remains in force. “We haven’t yet received a response. As far as we understood from the speeches of the Socialists, this week they plan to convene the party’s National Council that will take a decision,” stated Vitalie Gamurari.

ACUM/DA co-president Andrei Năstase said the meeting took place after the bloc’s representatives already met with EU and US senior officials, who also visited Chisinau yesterday, and also after Kozak had met with the Socialist and the Democratic parliamentary groups. The discussions focused mainly on trade and economic relations between Moldova and Russia, which according to Năstase are deficient lately. During the meeting, the bloc’s representatives reiterated that ACUM is a pro-European force that is committed to implementing the Association Agreement with the EU and that seeks closer cooperation within the Eastern Partnership and with Romania. “We talked about how we look at things that consolidate our society rather than at those that divide us. We also talked about propaganda and how it hurts Moldovans”, said Năstase. ACUM/PAS co-president Maia Sandu revealed that another issue discussed was the Transnistrian settlement and how foreign troops and ammunition must be withdrawn from Moldovan territory. “We trenchantly stated that we are against the federalization solution”, she added.

The new composition of the European Parliament formed after the May 26 elections will have a say as to the size of contributions provided to the Eastern Partnership countries of which Moldova forms part. The opinion was stated in an international conference centering on the results of the elections to the European Parliament and the process of Europeanizing the Republic of Moldova, organized by the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IRPE). IPRE executive director Iulian Groza said the current period is tumultuous, but offers many opportunities. “Definitely, the European Parliament elections are very important not only for discussions inside the EU. They will also have an impact on the EU’s foreign policy on the Eastern Partnership and, we hope, on the developments in the Republic of Moldova as well,” stated Iulian Groza. According to the organizers, the event involves experts from a number of European states, such as the Netherlands, Austria and Germany. These came to Chisinau on a fact-finding visit to familiarize themselves with the realities in the Republic of Moldova.

The Italian Republic is a strategic partner of the Republic of Moldova in terms of trade and investments. In the course of 2018, Moldova’s exports to Italy rose by 31.2% compared with 2017. By the value of trade recorded in 2018, Italy ranks fourth among the partners with which Moldova has commercial relations, Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Kiril Gaburici stated in the sixth Economic Forum of Italian Enterprises and Mixed Moldovan-Italian Enterprises in Moldova that is held in Chisinau on June 4. According to the minister, the forum is an important communication platform that offers informational support to all the representatives of companies with Italian capital working in Moldova.

Seasonal farmers markets will be set up in all the districts of the capital city each Saturday and Sunday. The first markets will be held this weekend, while the last ones on November 30.
