A boy aged one year and ten months died in a house fire in Sangerei town on November 26. He was in the house together with his sister aged three. The girl was evacuated, while the boy couldn’t be saved. The two were left without supervision.
Press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcan has told IPN that the firefighters were called by a neighbor, who saw flames in the house. Before being extinguished, the fire destroyed objects in the bedroom. The cause of fire is yet to be determined.
Another large-scale fire happened in a two-story building in Vadul lui Voda town this morning, November 27. Three firefighting vehicles travelled to the scene. The fire was localized in over an hour, after it destroyed practically the entire building. It’s not yet known what caused the fire.
The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service warns the parents and the persons who look after minors not to leave them without supervision. The people are urged to carefully use the stoves and electric devices. From November 28, inspectors from all over the country will pay visits to people at home to inform them about the anti-fire rules.
The 1,500 fires that happened in Moldova so far this year resulted in 92 deaths. Seven of the victims were children.
