Border Police and Customs Service equipped with six new vehicles

The Border Police intervention activity has received immense support from the European Union Border Assistance Mission in Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM). The statement was issued by Rosian Vasiloi, the head of the Border Police, during the donation ceremony of six cars from EUBAM to the Border Police and the Customs Service.

"It is not the first donation from the EUBAM mission. It is a huge support to our intervention activities, both at the green border and at the state border crossing points”, said Rosian Vasiloi.

The chief of Border Police said that, in turn, the government of Moldova will provide special equipment  and technology to ensure the security of the state border.

Iurie Ceban, interim director of the Customs Service, said that "today's event is yet another confirmation of the good collaboration between the Customs Service and other state institutions with the European Border Assistance Mission".

The keys to the cars were provided by Slawomir Pichor, head of EUBAM, who mentioned that the donation will strengthen security at the border of the Republic of Moldova and will modernize the customs services offered at the border.

Following the ceremony, an intervention demonstration of the mobile teams of the Border Police took place.
