The police in the afternoon of January 29 were informed that two Chisinau-based banks were mined. A number of police officers and firefighters travelled to the scene. The people who were inside the banks were evacuated.
Diana Turcan, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told IPN that the bomb threats were experienced by the head office of Victoriabank located on 31 august St and by the Romanian Commercial Bank situated on Pushkin St.
The firemen were called at 3:30pm. It is not yet known if explosive devices were found inside the banks.
