Bomb threat at Russia’s Embassy in Chisinau. Empty bag found nearby

The Buiucani Police Inspectorate at about 11:30pm on June 1 was informed that a bomb was planted at Russia’s Embassy in Chisinau situated on Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Blvd, IPN reports.

Chisinau Police Division press officer Natalia Stati said that all the specialized services travelled to the scene and the area was fenced. While examining the precincts, the Bomb Squad found a suspicious bag about 20 meters from the embassy, but there was found no explosive device in it.

Update
/2:54pm/ Natalia Stati noted that the information about the suspicious bag was transmitted to the Buiucani Police Inspectorate by employees of the General Police Inspectorate, who, for their part, were notified by carabineers. The latter were alerted by an employee of the embassy, who noticed the bag. In this case, the embassy’s representatives do not face punishment as it wasn’t intentional misleading about an act of terrorism.

The last bomb hoax was dealt with on May 11. Then, two teens called the 112 Service and said that an explosive device was planted on the roof of the Circus in Chisinau.
