Chisinau City Hall is checking billboards in the city. The inventory procedure was initiated in early October, and so far more than 3,000 billboards have been identified, IPN reports.
"At the initial stage, all the authorized billboards are included on the gislocal.md platform, which is public and can be accessed by all the capital's residents," said the capital's deputy mayor Ilie Ceban.
"Many economic agents got scared by this situation and started sending letters. We have explained to all of them that, at the first stage, we are only doing the inventory and we urge them to bring their papers in order; we are not penalizing anyone. Some people try to dodge these obligations by writing letters threatening to challenge them in court. We comply with the law, but some say that authorizing these billboards is complicated. Suppose advertising is not properly fixed on a wall and it falls down - who will be responsible?" said Ilie Ceban.
Inventory work continues to determine the exact number of billboards in the city.
