Smoking in bed killed 57 persons this year, mostly men of working age. According to the head of the Press center of the Exceptional Situations Department, Alexandru Oprea, the last victim of smoking in bed was only 26. Thus, on 11 July, at 5.00, in a house of the village Cismichioi, UTA Gagauzia, a fire has broken. The owner’s son aged 26, being drunk, fell asleep with a lighted cigarette, which caused the fire. The young man died smoke intoxicated. Over the past 24 hours, firemen teams of the republic were called in 10 cases, including in 3 fires broken in the capital.
