The Ministry of Finance opened a bank account for collecting funds in the form of donations for reconstructing the building of the National Philharmonic “Sergei Lunkevich”, which was seriously damaged by fire, IPN reports.

Donations can be made in Moldovan lei, U.S. dollars and euros. The bank details are available on the Ministry’s website.

Prime Minister Ion Chicu said most of the scores from the National Philharmonic’s phonotheque were saved. “We fully lost the building, but the most valuable part – the artistic group – will continue to work and to delight us with their divine creation! From other stages, for now. We will soon provide them with the necessary musical instruments,” the official posted on Facebook.

The General Inspectorate for Emergencies presented the preliminary causes of fire – a fault in the electrical equipment, a short circuit and non-observance of the anti-fire rules when cutting metal during pipe welding works.
