A teacher in Balti faces eight years in prison for inhuman and slanderous treatment of two elementary school students. The municipal prosecutor's office has completed the criminal prosecution and sent the case to court, IPN reports.
According to law enforcers, the teacher affected the physical and mental state of the children during lessons and admitted inadmissible behavior contrary to the rules of ethics in relation to two third-grade pupils.
The woman inflicted various forms of physical and verbal violence on the children, causing them physical pain, depression and anxiety, the prosecutors say.
The former primary school teacher's behavior was described as inhumane. During the hearings, the 57-year-old defendant said that the substance of the charges was clear to her, but that she would not comment on them.
According to the General Prosecutor's Office, the alleged offenses are punishable under the Criminal Code with imprisonment of 3 to 8 years, deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or to exercise certain activity for a term of 5 to 10 years.
