The baccalaureate exams will start this year on June 2, with the instruction language examination: Romanian – in the national schools and Russian - in the minorities’ schools. The foreign language exams will take place on June 6, and the mathematics exam for the real study cycle and Geography for the humanitarian cycle – on June 9. On June 13 will take place the optional exam and the students will have the possibility to choose from 6 courses: history, physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and geography. The minorities will take the state language exams on June 16 and the Ukrainian, Bulgarian and Gagauz exams on June 20. The final exams for the high schools will start on June 7 with the instruction language exam. The mathematics exam will take place on June 14, the foreign language exam - on June 19. The optional exams will take place on June 22 and will offer the following options: history, physics, chemistry and biology. On June 22 the representatives of the national minorities, graduates of the lyceums and of the gymnasium course will take the the Ukrainian, Bulgarian and Gagauz language exams. The gymnasium finals will start on June 5 with the mathematics exam. On June 8 will take place the instruction language exam on and on June 12 – Physics. All the exams will start at 9.30 According to the head of the General Education, Science, Youth and Sports Management of Chisinau, Alexandru Roman, the total number of students that will go in for a final examination amounts to 5.2 thousand lyceum students, 4.8 thousand secondary school students and 10.8 thousand gymnasium students. At the moment the meeting of the National Examination Commision was not held. The Commission must establish the definite number of the examination centers, but according to Roman 33 baccalaureate centers are planned and 38 centers for the secondary-schools final exams. The graduation exams of the gymnasium cycle will be taken in all 21 gymnasiums of Chisinau but also in the secondary schools were gymnasium grades exist. In the Chisinau municipality 61 lyceums and 41 secondary schools are working.
