Azerbaijan has offered a batch of humanitarian aid to Moldova enabling the provision of medical assistance to refugees from Ukraine. The donation includes 29 tonnes of medicines and other medical materials estimated at about $1 million.
During the handover ceremony, Nicolae Cojuhari, Chargé d'Affaires of the Moldovan Embassy in Azerbaijan, welcomed the decision of the Azerbaijani authorities to support the efforts of the Moldovan Government in managing the Ukrainian refugee crisis, said the Embassy in a press release.
The donation ceremony took place in Baku, at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, in the presence of Vugar Gurmabov, interim chairman of the Board of TABIB (The Administration of the Regional Medical Divisions), Elmaddin Mehdiyev, director of AIDA MFA (Azerbaijan International Development Agency), and Dmytro Berezhnyi, a senior officer with the Ukrainian Embassy in Baku.
