Average salary in Moldova up 8% in 2007
In 2007, the average monthly salary in economy was 2,063 lei, up 22% compared with the similar period of the previous year. The net average salary rose by 8%, Info-Prim Neo reports, with reference to the National Statistics Bureau.
In the budgetary sector the average salary totalled 1,625 lei, in the real sector – 2,292 lei.
The highest average salaries were registered in the fields of finances – 4,517 lei (+16.9%); transport and communications – 3,027 lei (+18.3%); power supply – 3,601 lei (+25%); constructions – 3,041 lei (+24.3%); extracting industry – 3,032 lei (+14.1%).
The lowest average salary was registered in agriculture, hunting and forestry – 1,074 lei (+20.7%).
Employees in the fishing industry received an average salary of 2,971 lei (+8.2%). In the industrial sector the salary amounted to 2,561 lei (+21.4%); in the processing industry – 2,341 lei (+20.5%); in the beverage industry – 2,006 lei (+25.3%); retail and wholesale trade – 2,029 lei (+35%); in the hospitality industry – 1,817 lei (+28.7%); in real estate transactions – 2,601 lei (+26.7%), in public administration – 2,394 (+11.2%).
The average salary in education made up 1,351 lei (+11.5%), while in the health and social assistance sectors – 1,700 lei (+27.9%).
The average salary in December 2007 totalled 2,630 lei, up 20% from December 2006. In the budgetary field the average salary made up 1,832 lei, in the real sector – 3,054 lei.
