The body of an eight-year-old child from Moară de Piatră village of Drochia district was discovered in Cubolta River on April 29. The police are examining drowning as one of the versions.

Ina Moscaliuc, press officer of the Drochia Police Inspectorate, said the police were alerted at about 8:30pm. The boy left homer at about 7pm and headed for the Cubolta River, where he was found dead later. The body was traced by his uncle who lived in the same village. A medical-legal examination is to be performed to find out the exact cause of death.

Contacted by IPN for details, mayor of Moară de Piatră Vera Cutrani said the boy was from a very good family. Both of the parents were very caring and made effort to improve his state of health as the boy suffered from autism. The family members were always near him and the tragedy was the result of a moment’s inattention. The river is only several hundred meters away from their house.
