Moldova and Italy will authorize regular passenger road transportation routes. The issue was discussed by the Moldovan-Italian technical commission in a meeting in Chisinau, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure, the authorization of regular routes between Moldova and Italy is aimed at fighting illicit passenger transportation services that have reached considerable proportions.
Currently, it is possible to reach Italy from Moldova by road only by unauthorized carriers, while the routes are not regular.
The Italian side pledged to ratify the agreement on mutual regulation of international passenger and freight road transportation between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Italy in the near future.
