Authorities decided to win elections at all costs, IDIS “Viitorul” director
The authorities decided to win the coming elections at all costs, sticking to the principle that no one judges the winners, the director of the Institute for Development and Social Initiative (IDIS) “Viitorul” Igor Munteanu says in No. 15 of the Economic Monitor.
The publication was presented on Tuesday, February 24.
Munteanu said that aiming to perpetuate the electoral advantage, the Government approves pay rises and dubious privatizations, while the candidates of the PCRM that are in the spotlight of the media – the head of state, the speaker and the prime minister – have not quitted their posts and use the administrative resources as they want.
The public radio and TV stations present the Government only in a favorable light, while the consequences of the financial crisis are not mentioned. Even the official statistics showed that the industrial output in January this year fell by 25% compared with last January. The Government seems not to observe and continues to boast with their ‘accomplishments’,” Igor Munteanu said.
The expert also said that the feelings of uncertainty and fear among the ordinary people have intensified. The reports presented by nongovernmental organizations point to serious offences concerning the unauthorized covering of events and hidden advertising, Munteanu added.
