AUR accuses SIS of trying to remove it from electoral race

The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) protested in front of the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) , asking for an audience with SIS director Alexandr Esaulenco. AUR candidates for MP said the institution tries to remove the party from the electoral competition, IPN reports.

AUR candidate Valeriu Munteanu said they wait for clear explanations from SIS as to who instructed it to remove the Alliance for the Union of Romanians from the electoral race and what SIS is afraid of. The union with Romania for which AUR pleads is constitutional. AUR obeys Moldova’s legislation, does not have foreign consultants and does not benefit from foreign financing.

AUR Moldova leader Vlad Biletski called on President Maia Sandu to become involved in the solving of this problem as SIS is subordinated to the presidential institutions “The citizens of the Republic of Moldovan will decide whether we should be in Parliament or not. Over 30% of them are for the union with Romania,” he stated.

According to members of the party, the fact that the AUR is not controlled by the mafia in the Republic of Moldova panicked the system that knows that AUR is now close to the election threshold and rises weekly by 1% an average.
