Ask the Doctor Service will offer advice to chronic outpatients on tel. 250-733
The Chisinau Medical Emergency Service (CMES) launched on Tuesday, January 29, a new service meant to reduce the number of calls that do not require immediate intervention of ambulance crews, and consequently will improve ambulance response times in cases that are really serious.
Ala Zuev, head of the fast response unit at CMES, told Info-Prim Neo that the service called “Ask the Doctor” will offer qualified advice by telephone (on 250-733) to chronic outpatients, suffering from heart conditions, gastric and lung diseases, persons that are not in great pain or just caught a cold. An experienced doctor will be there to answer such calls from 08.00 to 22.00.
The number of calls received by the Chisinau Emergency Service on Monday and Tuesday night hit a record high of 984. The 45 ambulance crews responded, among others, to 63 cases of mumps, 43 cases of trauma, 159 of acute viral diseases, and 6 brain strokes.
