Arrest warrant against second administrator of “Caravita” extended

The arrest warrant against the second administrator of “Caravita” Igor Cijov was extended for 30 days on October 9, IPN reports.

The court decision can be appealed to the Chisinau Appeals Court within three days. Anticorruption prosecutor Adriana Betisor told the press that the request to extend the arrest warrant was based on reasonable grounds and the prosecutors possess conclusive evidence, but more details won’t be given now so as not to affect the investigation.

On October 8, the Buiucani Court of Chisinau decided to extend the arrest warrant against the administrator of “Caravita” Ion Rusu for 20 days. In the case of the founder of “Caravita” Vladimir Rusu, who is under house arrest, the court will pronounce next week. The company’s financial director Tatiana Rosioru also remains under arrest.

The four persons from the administration of “Caravita” were arrested in July on suspicion of money laundering by which significant damage was caused to Banca de Economii.
