Army to help flood victims

The leadership of the Defense Ministry decides to urgently prepare personnel and equipment to liquidate the possible consequences of the floods in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo quotes a communique issued by the Ministry. According to Defense Minister Vitalie Vrabie, the Moldovan military are ready to get involved in cleaning roads and households. The army may also supply the population with power generators, water pumps, tents, canteens and boats. Colonel Igor Cutie, the head of the Operations Direction of the Staff, says the groups dealing with emergencies are ready to provide assistance whenever the authorities will ask them to, the communique reads.
