A 61-year-old cashier working at a currency exchange facility in Ungheni town was attacked by an individual in the evening of March 15. The man threatened the woman with a firearm and fired several shots in the wall. He stole over 400,000 lei, but was arrested by the police shortly afterward, IPN reports.

The Ungheni Police Inspectorate announced that the 27-year-old suspect has a criminal record. He is now held in the remand center of the Ungheni Police Inspectorate.

Legal action was taken against the man for robbery. He faces 12 to 15 years behind bars.
