Appeals Court rejects AUR’s challenge concerning polling stations abroad

The Chisinau City Appeals Court rejected the application by which the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) requested that the Central Election Commission should review its decisions to establish 150 polling stations outside the country, IPN reports.

AUR candidate Dorin Chirtoacă said the diaspora was betrayed by this decision. “Everyone except us are satisfied with the number of 150 polling stations abroad, instead of the 191 stations obtained last week. This is called illegal, secret agreement between the parties that divide the power,” Dorin Chirtoacă stated after the hearing at the Appeals Court.

The Chisinau City Appeals Court examined the challenge filed by AUR yesterday afternoon. A previous judgment passed by the Court obliged the electoral authority to order to establish at least 190 polling stations outside the country.
