The Republican Concern for Water Management “Apele Moldovei” will be replaced by the Agency “Apele Moldovei” (AAM). The Ministry of Local Public Administration states that the establishment of AAM as an autonomous central authority derives from the need to concentrate all the obligations in the field of water and hydro public utility systems, as well as the implementation of the strategy on supplying water and sewerage services to the localities in Moldova through a single public institution. This will allow monitoring and managing the processes occurring in the mentioned areas. In this respect, the Agency will be empowered with some functions of the Agency for Construction and Territory Development related to the development and running of the water supply and sewerage systems.
