The vice director of the water supplier SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” Vladimir Mocreac was remanded in custody for 30 days following a decision taken on April 4 by the Appeals Court, which accepted the prosecutor’s request and replaced the house arrest with remand detention.
Contacted by IPN, Gennady Parlii, head of the Frauds Again Environment and Public Interests Division of the Prospector General’s Office, said that Vladimir Mocreac is investigated for abusing his position when signing contracts that led to the pollution of water.
The prosecutor also said that the investigation goes on and the case will be sent to court when this is completed.
