The public association “Altruism” will stage the Anti-Suicide Days in Moldova between September 10 and October 15. The anti-suicide campaign will be launched on the World Suicide Prevention Day, at the Triumphal Arch in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau, IPN reports.
“Altruism” head Liuba Ceban told a press club meeting that the campaign will include discussions, psychological counseling and a march entitled “March of Hope”.
Within the campaign, members of the association will travel to a number of settlements. On October 10, when it is marked the World Mental Health Day, there will be presented the short film “The ninth sky” that was inspired by real cases identified with the help of the anti-suicide green line.
Journalist Angela Arama said that depression, which often causes suicide, is not perceived as a problem in Moldova and solutions to it are not looked for, which is more serious.
Moldova ranks 20th in the world by the number of cases of suicide. The number of persons who commit suicide is equal to the number of killed people.
