Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu believes in the Republic of Moldova as a country that is no longer afraid to defend its interests and citizens and to penalize those who try to humiliate it. “I believe in people because the Republic of Moldova during the 27 years learned a lot and the most important thing it learned is that there is no country without people who are the foundations of the state and only the people decide how they want to live,” the Speaker stated in a festivity held to celebrate Moldova’s Independence Day at the National Palace “Nicolae Sulac”, IPN reports.

“This morning, I felt once again that all the dilemmas related to Moldova’s future are false. The flowers laid today by the people who believe in their country and in the future at the Grieving Mother Monument and at Monument to Stephan the Great or by those who today take part in the events staged all over the country are more relevant than all the polls and political statements. They came to say from the heart: Long live, Moldova! The joy to live in an independent country is not measured in the Great National Assembly Square or in this hall. It is our joy, of all the inhabitants of the Republic of Moldova, to live in peace and harmony, as we like to live. It is the holiday we deserve to fully enjoy no matter where we are,” stated Andrian Candu.

According to him, the hundreds of experiments performed during all these years of independence made the citizens be disgusted with promises and tired of expectation, be skeptical an critical, be afraid of reforms and stability. The change depends on each of us and everything is done by work, devotion and tolerance.

Today the Republic of Moldova celebrates the 27th anniversary of the declaration of its independence.
