“Timofei Moșneaga” National Clinical Hospital cooperates with large hospitals in Romania to ensure the exchange of experience and to participate jointly in projects to access European funds, the institution’s director Andrei Uncuța stated in a public debate  centering on the cooperation in healthcare between entities from both banks of the Prut River. According to him, the medical entity has set up a new body whose duty is to attract professionals specialized in attracting European funds.

“Timofei Mosneaga” National Clinical Hospital is part of the Association of Public Hospitals of Romania. Andrei Uncuța said that the medical institution he leads has good cooperation relations with hospitals of Romania, which favors the exchange of experience and contributes to the optimization of hospital administration.

“We are a member of the Association of Public Hospitals of Romania. We go to Romania for training and conferences. In addition, we try to create lasting connections with other public medical and sanitary institutions of Romania. We have already signed cooperation agreements with four large hospitals of Timisoara. We have a cooperation agreement with the hospital of Iasi. We are also having negotiations with other public health facilities to see which projects we can access by mutual agreement. In this connection, the Association is a very important platform for us. Within our institution, we have created a project management service. It is a new body and I even invite young people from various specialties, such as lawyers and economists, to come and get employed at this body. Having such a body, with professional people, we will be able to write projects and access European funds,” stated Andrei Uncuța.

Silviu-Vasilică Rusu, president of the Association of Public Hospitals of Romania, stated that the Association is an excellent platform for improving medical activity. Also, the Association offers medical institutions the opportunity to jointly access European funds that are necessary to develop hospital infrastructure.

“Investments in health will have a positive impact on the economy as a healthy population is more productive and has a higher level of participation in the labor market. The patient is a priority for us and the quality of the medical service is achieved when a hospital has everything it needs. If you have money, you can create correct infrastructure. The Association of Public Hospitals has a department for training and accessing European funds. Not all the health units can afford to hire employees and be able to access funds. Where we are asked for help, we are open to provide support within the Association,” stated Silviu-Vasilică Rusu.

The public debate entitled “Cooperation in healthcare sector between entities from both banks of the Prut River in order to absorb European funds in mixed Moldovan-Romanian teams” was the 14th installment of the project “Double integration through cooperation and information. Continuity”, funded by the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova.
