The ACUM bloc DA PAS candidate for the position of general mayor of Chișinău, Andrei Năstase, intends to "increase the urban comfort" for the inhabitants of the city and of the suburbs, if he becomes mayor. He presented a plan in this regard, which aims to "rebuild Chișinău", which targets the roads, public transport and road traffic.
In a press conference, Andrei Năstase said that the residents of the city can no longer be subjected to all kinds of "social and economic experiments". The plan aims to restore the main roads, to install smart traffic lights, and to set modern and high quality public lighting. Additionally, the plan includes measures that aim to expand and modernize the urban bus and trolleybus fleets and to implement intelligent e-ticketing solutions.
According to Andrei Năstase, the implementation of the measures will take place with the support of Romanian and international expertise The candidate claimed that he has estimated the costs of his plan and said that he will make them public at a later date. The necessary funds could not be entirely covered by the municipal budget, thus the city will cooperate with the government, with state institutions and with external partners.
The candidate urged the residents of the municipality to participate in the elections and to vote for him as mayor, along with the list of candidates for the position of councilor, put forward by the ACUM bloc.
