Andrei Năstase: Bloc ACUM will insist on continuation of Parliament sitting

The president of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPPDA) Andrei Năstase said the bloc ACUM will insist on the continuation of the Parliament sitting so as to debate the initiatives they proposed earlier and will not take part in the discussions with the leaders of other parliamentary parties that were announced by President Igor Dodon for April 2, IPN reports.

The leader of the PPPDA said nothing obliges the groups of the bloc ACUM to take part in the meeting scheduled by President Dodon with representatives of the parts that entered Parliament at the Presidential Office. “In such a format it is useless to go there. Why should we go there?” Andrei Năstase stated in the talk show “In Depth” on PRO TV Chisinau channel.

The politician said they will insist on the continuation of the sitting where they could discuss the package of laws they introduced earlier into Parliament. The bloc ACUM prefers transparent discussions in Parliament to nontransparent discussions in different places.

The leader of the PPPDA suggested that the Party of Socialists and the Democratic Party actually have discussions on the formation of a ruling alliance.

Andrei Năstase considers the Democratic leader Vladimir Plahotniuc is most interested in having snap parliamentary elections.

He expressed his conviction that the bloc ACUM will remain united even if it separated into two parliamentary groups. “The bloc was formed by two parties and it was decided as it was decided... I hope the experience we gained at the presidential and local elections and then at the parliamentary elections will be reproduced in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.”

According to Andrei Năstase, the key feature of the agreement signed by the representatives of the political bloc ACUM is the common participation in this year’s local elections.

According to the organizers, the leaders of the other parliamentary parties were also invited to the talk show. The president of the Party “Action and Solidarity” Maia Sandu invoked personal reasons. The Socialist leader Zinaida Grecheanyi and the Democratic leader Vladimir Plahotniuc provided no response to the invitation.
