The 26 MPs of the Bloc ACUM ask to convene a special sitting of Parliament. ACUM co-president Andrei Năstase, the leader of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”, said an application to this effect is being prepared by members of the bloc. According to the politician, they suggest holding the sitting on May 21-22 and to choose the Parliament’s leadership and working bodies then. The issue was developed in a program on ProTV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.
“We propose holding on May 21-22 a special sitting of Parliament where to elect the Speaker, the permanent commissions, the Standing Bureau and to surely adopt an agenda that reflects the immediate interest of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, including the local elections,” opined Andrei Năstase.
He noted the Bloc ACUM stands ready to look for legal and moral, constitutional solutions together with those who declared they want de-oligarchization and the rule of law, not a captured state. “We expect these people (e.n. the Socialists) to overcome fear and show courage and determination to struggle and join us in the fight against the mafia, poverty and the mass exodus from the country. But we do not yet see something like this,” stated the MP.
As to the local elections, Andrei Năstase said the elections are postponed because neither the Democratic Party nor the Party of Socialists have chances of winning the mayoral elections in the municipality of Chisinau and also because he intends to run again for the mayoralty of the capital city.
