Wrester Anastasia Nikhita won a bronze medal at the European Wrestling Championships of Bucharest, IPN reports.
The 20-year-old athlete qualified for the semifinals after scoring three victories in the 57 kg weight class. She defeated Germany’s Elena Brugger 10-0, Jowita Wrzesien of Poland 10-0 and Norway’s Grace Jacob Bullen, who became European champion in 2017, 13-2. In the semifinals, Anastasia lost narrowly to Ukraine’s Tetyana Kit, who won bronze at the World Championships of 2015 and silver at the European Championships of 2016.
In the match for the bronze medal, Anastasia Nikita beat France’s Mathilde Helene Riviere 8-7. This was her first performance at European Seniors Championships.
