An 11-month-old baby was hit by a car driven by his father. The accident happened in Ciobanovca locality of Anenii Noi district.

The press officer of the Anenii Noi Police Inspectorate, Mariana Didenco, told IPN that the accident was reported on the afternoon of March 14.

Everything happened in the household's yard. The head of the family, a 30-year-old man, drove off without noticing the child in front of the car and crashed into him.

After the impact, the child was taken to hospital by his parents, but doctors pronounced him dead.

The result of the breathalyzer test of the man showed negative alcohol results.

A criminal case has been opened to establish all the circumstances.
