Ambassador Valery Kuzmin: Meetings with parties are an ordinary Kremlin practice
Russian Ambassador in Chisinau Valery Kuzmin met the leadership of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) on February 1. Last week, he had discussions with representatives of the Liberal Democratic Party, the Democratic Party and the Communists Party, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The discussions with the political parties on Moldova's future are conducted calmly, without discrimination or antipathy towards a certain party, the Russian diplomat said in a press briefing after the meeting with leaders of the PSD.
“We aim to hold a series of political meetings to exchange ideas and opinions on the development of the political situation in Moldova. We discuss with all those who represent an active political force, with those whom we know well and who have interesting ideas. Russia wants Moldova to be a predictable, stable and prosperous partner,” said the Russian official.
The Liberal Democratic Party was the first party with which Valery Kuzmin discussed. “I was empowered to transmit Russian Prime Minister's congratulations to Vlad Fila on his appointments as Premier. In the meeting, we managed to confer on a number of issues. There was no hidden plan or bad intention in that act,” said Valery Kuzmin
According to him, a meeting with representatives of the Liberal Party did not take place as the party's leader was abroad.
The ambassador said the meetings with political parties are an ordinary practice of the Kremlin. Such meetings were held in the past as well, but did not attract so much attention from the mass media as now.
