Oxana Domenti was dismissed from the post of Ambassador, Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva and, simultaneously, to Switzerland by a Government decision approved on April 29, IPN reports.
Under the legislation, the ambassadors are named and discharged by the President of the Republic of Moldova at the suggestion of the Government.
In the middle of February, the executive approved a decision on the dismissal of six ambassadors, namely Mihai Gribincea, Ambassador to Romania and simultaneously to Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia; Vitalie Rusu, Ambassador to the Czech Republic and simultaneously to the Holy See; Victor Osipov, Ambassador to Austria and simultaneously to Slovakia, Moldova’s Permanent Representative to the OSCE and Representative to the United Nations Office at Vienna; Veaceslav Dobîndă, Ambassador to Sweden and simultaneously to Finland, Norway and the Republic of Iceland; Denis Jelimalai, Ambassador to China, and Ștefan Gorda, Ambassador to Bulgaria and simultaneously to North Macedonia and Albania.
In a response to IPN, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration says that by the President’s decree of February 26, Vitalie Rusu and Ștefan Gorda were discharged and transferred to the central staff of the Ministry. They both took up their new duties on March 31.
The decrees referring to the other ambassadors haven’t been signed.
In the April 29 meeting, Government also fired Artiom Jukov from the post of director general of the National Anti-Dope Agency. Victor Zubcu was named in his place for a four-year term.
