Almost half of Moldova’s population does not trust the politicians, shows an opinion poll presented by the Association of Sociologists and Demographers on January 18, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Association’s chairman Victor Mocanu told a news conference that when asked about the political credibility, 42.3% of the respondents answered that they trust no one. Among the politicians that polled most of the votes are: Vladimir Voronin – 29.4%, Vlad Filat – 27.2%, and Marian Lupu – 18.6%. President Nicolae Timofti is trusted by 2.6% of those questioned.
When the respondents were given by a list of political personalities to choose from among them, 40% of them said they trust Vlad Filat. He is followed by Marian Lupu, and Vladimir Voronin.
According to the poll, there is no party in Moldova that would enjoy the trust of the largest part of the population. The PCRM is trusted by 44% of those polled, the PLDM by 42%, the PDM by 34%, while the PL by 29%.
If parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, 45% of the respondents would certainly take part in them, 34% would probably take part, 6% would not take part, while 7% would definitely not take part. 8% of those surveyed have not yet decided. 35.5% said they would vote for the PCRM, 27.8% for the PLDM, 16.4% for the PDM, while 11.4% for the PL.
The poll was carried out during December 21-30. It covered a sample of 1,194 persons from 72 settlements. The margin of sampling error is 3%.
