Almost 50 driving schools have permissive documents expired

Over 6,000 persons cannot be admitted to external exams because the permissive documents of the driving schools where they studied have expired. According to the Public Services Agency, 181 driving schools had accreditation at the start of this year and 134 of these had valid permissive documents in September. The others had the documents expired, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.

In a meeting of Cabinet officials, Prime Minister Ion Chicu said the problem should be solved so as to avoid the formation of lines in the process of examining those who studied there.

Earlier this year, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research informed that the driving schools should initiate the procedures for the external assessment and for obtaining the permissive documents. But only six of the 47 driving schools whose documents expired filed an application for external assessment.

The Ministry proposed that the schools that continued to teach persons to drive after their documents expired should be obliged to repeatedly assess the students at the institution by covering the costs with own funds, while the students of the institutions that do not have permissive documents should be reassessed at another institution that works legally, by covering the costs with money from the school’s budget.
