The Alley of Arts located near the Park of the Metropolitan Cathedral on Columna St started to be rehabilitated in the perimeter of the streets Pushkin and Bănulescu-Bodoni St. The Chisinau City Hall said decent conditions for traders in paintings and other things who earlier sold in Mihai Eminescu Square will be created there, IPN reports.
Twenty reinforced concrete stands that will be three meters in width each will be set up along the alley. These could be used as trading stalls. They have metallic bodies and are made in Chisinau.
The trading places will be heated in winter.
The author of the project is architect Alexandru Sava. The budget for setting up the trading space consists of €60,000 provided by the Turkish Coordination and Cooperation Agency and 400,000 lei allocated by the Buiucani district head’s office.
The works will last until end-November.
The Chisinau City Hall decided to relocate the trading place from Mihai Eminescu Square that is now rehabilitated and will be outfitted with urban furniture.
