A unique document, which contains the models of all the identity documents in the national passport system, has been approved by the government.

The new models do not include holder blood group information. Additionally, there are changes to the "Residence" information field, which is replaced by "Domicile".

Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Năstase, Minister of Internal Affairs, said that the new IDs will be introduced when the current stock of cards runs out, but no later than April 1, 2020.

All types of identity documents from the national passport system remain in circulation until the expiration of the term of validity.
