Pugilist Alexei Zavatin was beaten by Arsene Fokou of Cameroon 2-3 in the 1/8 finals of the World Boxing Championships that are taking place in Hamburg, IPN reports.

In the first round, the 30-year-old athlete beat Argentine’s Luis Calderon 5-0. Alexei Zavatin competed in the World Championships for the second time.

The World Boxing Championships in Germany also involved Vasile Belous, who was eliminated after the first round. No Moldovan boxer medalled there so far.
