Alexei Lungu, president of Șansă Party, denounced the decision to ban his party for three months as “baseless”, saying the judges behind the ruling “will answer” for this.
“All the legal documents were submitted to the CEC and the Fiscal Inspectorate. Today Șansă Party is clean both before the CEC and before the FISC”, said Alexei Lungu. In his opinion, that decision violates human rights, the Electoral Code and democratic norms. “The corrupt judges who handed down the decision must know that they will all answer before the law”, he declared.
The Șansă Party on Friday was ordered by the Bălți District Court to restrict its activity for a period of three months and pay a 250 lei fine, following a complaint from the Ministry of Justice. The complaint was lodged after the Central Election Commission notified the Ministry that the party failed to comply with the requirements of an audit which found reporting violations.
