The investigation into the bank fraud should be further conducted without the involvement of politicians, but with the participation of foreign secret services. To determine the direction followed by the investigation, Parliament should constitute a commission that would analyze the situation since last November until now, said PPPDA MP Alexandru Slusari, chairman of the parliamentary commission of inquiry into the robbing of the banking system.  

“The investigation should be independent, free from political interference, and should not be selective. Depending on the political situation, we either close the eyes or open them. Here Platon is good, there someone else is not good. Otherwise, things won’t be credible,” Alexandru Slusari stated in a public debate entitled “Investigation of bank fraud: actions, perceptions, reasonable timeframes” that was staged by IPN News Agency.

He noted that for at least a part of the stolen money to be restored, the responsible authorities should cooperate with the foreign services. “Much more efficient cooperation is necessary with secret services of other countries, especially if we want to get back a part of the money. I now see some attempts, but I think the cooperation with foreign services should be improved.”

Alexandru Slusari considers the control over the investigation conducted the past year should be stepped up.

“Parliament should set up a commission that would analyze the situation since last November until now and would examine how the process of liquidating the three banks goes and how those state loans were distributed as, during our investigation, we received information that the robbing continued after November 2014.”
