The captain of the national football team of Moldova Alexandru Epureanu was named the best footballer of the country for the fifth time. The fullback of the team Istanbul Bașakșehir also won this title in 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2012, IPN reports.
Epureanu scored 339 points, being followed by the halfback of FC Rostov Alexandru Gațcan (275p) and the halfback of Cagliari Artur Ioniță (237p).
Lilian Popescu of Petrocub Hîncești was named the best coach. “I thank my colleagues, footballers, managers and fans for their support. It is their merit. I hope the next season will be more interesting,” stated Lilian Popescu, who became the best coach for the second time.
Alexei Koshelev of Fortuna Sittard was named the best goalkeeper. Alexandru Epureanu also won the prize for the best fullback. Artur Ioniță of Cagliari was named the halfback of the year, while Radu Gînsari became the best striker.
