Radu Albot had a successful start at the ITF Futures tournament in Antalya, Turkey. The best Moldovan tennis player beat his conational Maxim Dubarenko in the first round of the competition 6-3, 6-2, IPN reports.

In the next round, Albot, who is the main favorite of the competition, will play against Moldova’s Andrei Ciumac, who beat Muhammet Haylaz of Turkey 6-2, 6-3.

It is for the first time that the Moldovan players have encounters between them at an international tournament. Currently, Albot is the best ranked Moldovan tennis player in the world. He takes the 234th position. Maxim Dubarenko ranks 472th, while Ciumac – 583rd.
