Air Moldova paid US$8m of US$32m for new plane
Air Moldova has paid US$8 of the price of US$32 million of the Embraer-190 Jet bought from a Brazilian factory in leasing. The plane will arrive in Chisinau next month, Info-Prim Neo reports.
It is for the first time that a Moldovan company purchases a new plane. The Embraer-190 has 114 seats and can cover a distance of up to 4,500 kilometers. Eight pilots and four crews that will work on the plane are now attending training courses. The jet will be also piloted by the company's director, Iulian Scorpan.
Air Moldova accounts for 50% of the number of passengers transported through the Chisinau International Airport. It is followed by Turkish Airlines with 11% and Meridiana with 9.7%.
