Adriana Sosnosvski has easily qualified for the second round of the ITF Pro Circuit tournament that is held in Chisinau for the first time. The 18-year-old player beat Romania’s Gabriela Duca 6-1, 6-2, IPN reports.

Alexandra Perper had a much more difficult game. The 25-year-old Moldovan needed three sets to eliminate Ukraine’s Viktoria Dema, which is by 10 years younger. Perper lost the first set 3-6, but then recovered and won the next two sets 7-6, 6-4. Alexandra Perper has played three ITF Pro Circuit tournaments this year.

Another Moldovan tennis player, Iulia Helbet, was eliminated by Veronika Kapshay of Ukraine by 3-6, 2-6. The prize money of the Chisinau tournament is US$10,000. The final will take place on October 2. Next week Chisinau will host one more tournament of the ITF Pro Circuit.
