Adriana Bețișor has announced she is stepping down as Deputy Anticorruption Chief Prosecutor and leaving the prosecution service altogether. Contacted by IPN, the prosecutor cited “personal reasons” for her departure.
“You reach one point in life when you realize that your family and your close ones are more important than anything else. We must have other priorities in life, too”, the former prosecutor commented on her resignation notice.
Adriana Beţişor, now 32, became prosecutor in 2011, and already three years later she was assigned to ex-prime minister Vlad Filat’s case, whom she sent to prison for 9 years on influence peddling and bribery charges.
