Admission to universities on the base of a unique contest for budgetary and contract places

Admission to the high education institutions will be performed on the base of a unique contest for the budgetary and contract places. The head of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, Galina Bulat, declared for Info-Prim Neo that in 2006 the number of students matriculated on contract base was limited through a Governmental decision to 20.040 available places. In 2006, for the budgetary studies will be available 7645 places, by about 660 places more than in 2005. At the same time, admission to higher education institutions, similarly to the last year will be performed on the base of the mean of marks received at the school leaving exams and plus of the mean of 11 years results or 3 lyceum years and of 4 specialization disciplines, settled by the institution according to the specialization. The requests will be submitted during July 1-15 and the results will be announced on July 20. Admission will take place at 29 higher education institutions of the country: universities, academies, institutes, inclusively 16 public and 13 private. According to the admission organization Rules, 70% of the places reserved to the graduates of the lyceums will be given to the students from rural localities and 30% to those from urban localities. For the graduates of the general schools, the percentage will constitute 90 and correspondingly 10%.
