The chairman of the public association “Moldova mea” Fiodor Ghelici believes the parliamentary immunity should be annulled. He said all the members of Moldova’s Parliament are accomplices to the wrongdoings committed since the country proclaimed its independence.
In a news conference at IPN, Fiodor Ghelici said that among the wrongdoings is the concession of the Chisinau International Airport. Instead of bringing money into the budget, this strategic facility enriches private individuals.
The activist noted the MPs of the legislature of 2012-2013 are particularly to blame for the bank fraud. “A criminal case over complicity to wrongdoings or hiding of these wrongdoings can be started against each second MP,” he stated.
Fiodor Ghelici considers the annulment of parliamentary immunity is something that Moldova needs. He gave as example the states where the immunity is valid only during the parliamentary sessions or for a definite number of days.
“The MPs should be urgently stripped of parliamentary immunity. Only this way clean people will reach Parliament.”
The chairman of “Moldova mea” reminded of videos showing a discussion between President Igor Dodon and the then leader of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc. He wondered why the President hasn’t been yet questioned over that discussion.
Fiodor Ghelici also said that the association he heads will monitor the behavior of MPs and will signal the deviations committed by these. He reminded the MPs that they are in the service of the people.
