President Nicolae Timofti will name an acting Premier on June 22, the head of state’s adviser on communication Vlad Turcanu has told IPN. The post of Prime Minister can be held on an interim basis by one of the members of the outgoing Cabinet. The Government’s jurists said the principle of hierarchy is usually followed and one of the three First Deputy Prime Ministers is chosen.
On June 12, outgoing Premier Chiril Gaburici announced his resignation, saying later he will not hold the post on an interim basis, until a new Government is formed.
A new Cabinet must be invested within three months of the announcement of the resignation by the Premier, which is by September 12.
