Acting Premier demands mobilizing efforts in agroindustral sector
The acting Prime Minister Vitalie Parlog asked the members of the Government to mobilize all the relevant authorities and identify efficient measures to solve the problems faced in the agroindustrial sector, create optimal harvesting conditions and support the farmers and the export of agricultural and wine products, including by implementing administrative and fiscal measures, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Government.
Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and of the Ministry of Economy and Trade came together for a meeting on September 15 to discuss the situation in the agricultural sector. The outgoing Minister of Agriculture Anatolie Gorodenco said that about 770,000 tonnes of wheat, 303,000 tonnes of barley, 21,000 tonnes of pea and 80,000 tonnes of rape have been reaped so far. He said that according to estimates, the food wheat this year will make up about 45% of the total volume. This is more than last year and the country's food security will be fully ensured.
For his part, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Sergiu Sainciuc said that 2,820 export authorizations have been issued this year, including 723 authorizations for exporting wine.
The deputy director general of the Agroindustrial Agency “Moldova-Vin” Nicolae Taran said that about 350,000 tonnes of grapes will be harvested this year, by 100,000 tonnes more than last year. According to him, the wine stocks now total about 17 million decaliters to the value of approximately US$300 million.
