Acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu instructed the General Public Amenities Division to engage the specialized municipal services in the cleanup of the fountains situated in front of National Hotel in the capital city, IPN reports.

In the September 24 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu said the fountains are not managed by the municipality even if the plot on which they are located is publicly owned.

Ruslan Codreanu ordered to clean up the area. The General Public Amenities Division is to request the business entity that runs a store situated in the neighborhood to set up garbage bins so that the waste is not thrown in the fountains nearby.

Last week, IPN News Agency reported that the fountains from near National Hotel, which have been nonfunctional since the hotel was closed, turned into a waste dump where passersby throw bottles, PET packs and other household waste.
